The most successful Land and Water speed record breaker with nine Land speed records and four Water speeds. He broke his first record in 1924 with a speed of 146.16mph on Pendine sands. His last land speed record was 301.13 mph on Bonneville Salt Flats in 1935. He then switched to Water and broke his first record with a speed of 126.33 mph on Lake Maggiore his fourth and last record was 141.74 mph on Coniston Water in 1939.
